The Inside Track on the ILO Internship Scheme (for all UK and international students)

8 November 2016, 1.00 PM - 8 November 2016, 2.00 PM

Laura Stafford, Industrial Liaison Officer (Industrial Liaison Office) and Gareth Hughes, Faculty Employability Adviser (Careers Service).

Lecture Theatre 1, Chemistry.

Find out everything you need to know about the *NEW* Industrial Liaison Office Internship Scheme, including which companies are involved and how to apply. The ILO Internship Scheme, launched this year, is open to all Engineering students and includes opportunities exclusive to the Faculty. There are also overseas opportunities available for international students.

Hear first-hand from students who took part in last year's scheme what they got out of their internship experience and the benefits of undertaking an internship during your degree. Careers Service and ILO staff will also be available to answer your questions about internships.

Please note, the new ILO Internship Scheme replaces the three schemes from previous years: the First Year, Late and International Internship Schemes.

Bring your lunch.

For an hour after the seminar, the Faculty of Engineering Employability Adviser Gareth Hughes (Careers Service) will be available in the Merchant Venturers Building foyer (upper atrium) for students to drop in and talk about anything careers related, including any queries, CV advice and how to access further support.

You can view the slides from this presentation here.

The Inside Track Seminar series is an informal forum aimed at students to provide a regular opportunity to discuss in an open forum any industry or careers related issues you have. Each week will have a theme, but there will also be the opportunity to bring any other questions you have (e.g. about CVs, job applications, types of industry, internships etc.). Members of staff from the Careers Service and Industrial Liaison Office will be at each session.
