Cyber Warfare Capture the Flag (CTF) competition

29 March 2014, 10.30 AM - 29 March 2014, 10.30 AM

Venue: MVB Atrium, Merchant Ventures Building, Woodland Road.

Following on from the very successful BAE Systems Capture the flag event last term, we (a group of security-minded students) are organising our very own Cyber Warfare Capture the Flag (CTF) competition - Operation Commonwealth Games on 29 March 2014 from 1030 to 1800 in the MVB Atrium, Merchant Ventures Building, Woodland Road.

If you're not sure what this means, please visit Wikipedia does a very good job of defining what a CTF is. This challenge will involve defending your countries provided infrastructure from attacks whilst simultaneously attempting to cripple other nations top secret facilities.

Technical Skill, problem solving, teamwork and panache will all be put to the test in a frankly terrifying portent of what the potential Cyber Security and Information Warfare professionals of tomorrow can do.

And the Winners?

Well; they’ll survive…

This event is intended for everyone from the Chinese Government to those with no knowledge of computers.

We want professionals/professors/undergraduates/everyone who is interested and willing to learn! We're looking for six teams of approximately six people in each team, from across the University faculties. If you don't have a team, come along and we'll find you one! (Some of the most successful teams have been created on the day)

We're running the event from 1030 to 1800 in the MVB Atrium, Saturday 29th March. So if you're interested, email jg1558@my.bristol.ac.uk to book your place.

This event is open to the entire Faculty.
