Interconnected technologies are changing the way the world around us works. That is, the systems and processes that enable: physical goods to be developed, manufactured, bought and sold; services to be delivered; everything from people and money to oil, water and electrons to move; and billions of people to work, govern themselves and live.

In this session Dr Rick Robinson (Executive Architect, Smarter Cities, IBM Europe) will introduce the concept of building a smarter planet, and explore what this means to cities such as Bristol. You will also hear from Ben Harrison (Director of Partnerships, Centre for Cities) and Joey Tabone (Chief Executive, Start) about how they are working with organisations such as IBM to inspire, encourage and inform the UK public on why making our cities more sustainable is relevant, appealing and will have a positive impact for everyone.
