Fibre Coupling of Micropillar devices for Quantum Information Applications

The aim of this project was to reject most of the photons from laser source (achieve high polarization extinction ratio) and to obtain high capture efficiency from quantum dot.
The MSc in Communication Networks and Signal Processing programme will give you access to state-of-the-art facilities at the University:
Centre for quantum photonics
You can use the centre to explore fundamental aspects of quantum mechanics, and work towards future photonic quantum technologies by generating, manipulating and measuring single photons.
Class 1000 cleanroom
This newly refurbished world class facility includes Electron Beam lithography, Plasma etching systems and Two Photon Nanolithography systems. Certain research projects will require access to these facilities.
The programme director is Professor Martin Cryan from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
This programme is CEng accredited and fulfils the educational requirements for registration as a Chartered Engineer when presented with a CEng accredited Bachelors programme.
