Biography

Dr Xiaodong Xu is a Senior Research Associate at the Bristol Composites Insititute (ACCIS). From 2010 to 2014, he was a PhD student at the ACCIS research centre. His PhD thesis was titled "Size Effects in Notched Quasi-isotropic Carbon/Epoxy Laminates under Tensile Loads". Since October 2014, Dr Xiaodong Xu has been working on composites modelling, in collaboration with BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce, Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and the University of British Columbia (UBC). At the moment, he is the co-investigator of the Bristol-Mitsubishi Heavy Industry Bonded Structure Project. He has also been independently conducting research funded by the Faculty ...
