Dr Daniele Fiscaletti

Daniele Fiscaletti is lecturer in experimental aerodynamics. His fields of expertise are turbulence, particle image velocimetry, and aeroacoustics. Daniele obtained his MSc cum laude in Vehicle Engineering (Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia) in 2010.  Later, Daniele worked as a R&D engineer in a private company. In 2011, he moved to the Netherlands where he obtained his PhD in Experimental Fluid Mechanics (Delft University of Technology) in 2016. After one year as a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Southampton, he moved to Bristol, to start as a lecturer at the University of Bristol.

During his PhD (TU Delft), Daniele studied the interaction between large and small scales of turbulence in flows at high Reynolds number, and applied a new experimental approach to investigate the spatial organization of the small scales, for modelling purposes. As a post-doctoral research fellow (University of Southampton), Daniele expanded his research interest towards turbulent boundary layers. In particular, he examined the structures responsible for momentum transport in boundary layers, from a time-resolved PIV dataset.

Daniele is currently searching for PhD students.
