The School of Economics, Finance and Management consists of three distinct departments; the Department of Accounting and Finance, the Department of Economics and the Department of Management, with over 50 research-active staff, publishing in top international journals.
In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, the Department of Economics had 85% of its research rated as 3* or 4*, the department of Accounting and Finance was awarded an average rating of 2.55 and the Department of Management had 75% of its research rated as international quality.
The School of Economics, Finance and Management also hosts 3 research centres; The ESRC funded Centre for Market and Public Organisation (CMPO), the Centre for Structural Econometrics (CSE) and the Action Research and Critical Inquiry in Organisations (ARCIO).
