The Departments of Accounting and Finance, Economics and Management are all outlets recognized by the UK's Economic and Social Research Council for postgraduate training. This means that students who wish to study for postgraduate degrees in these departments can potentially apply for ESRC studentships. Use this link for more information.

Sonia Bhalotra (Economics Department) has been appointed to a new Scientific Resource Group at the World Health Organization.
In awarding the 2009 Nobel prize to Oliver Williamson, the Nobel Committee cited research by Bristol economist Maija Halonen-Akatwijuka.
