We are currently accepting applications for all of our MSc programmes - the application deadline is 1 July 2012.  Please note, some programmes may close earlier if demand is high.  Our MSc in Finance and Investment closed on 17th May 2012.

  2. Who do I contact with an enquiry?
  3. What other information must I supply if I'm an international applicant?
  4. How am I assessed?
  5. University of Bristol admissions policy

1. What do I need to provide?

The online application covers your postgraduate programme choice, contact details, qualification history, work experience, English language competence, proposed means of funding, and a personal statement. In addition to this, you may be required to provide details of your academic references.  You will find it useful to look at the application Frequently Answered Questions.

2. Who do I contact with an enquiry?

  • For all postgraduate enquiries please contact: efim-pgadmissions@bristol.ac.uk  Please remember to quote your application ID number and full name if you have already applied as this helps us identify your application quickly.

3. What other information must I supply if I'm an international applicant?

If you are applying from outside the UK, you will need to provide fully certified transcripts of your academic record to date to support your application.  If the documents are not in English, they should be accompanied by certified English translation. It is in your interest to provide full information without delay, thus enabling the University to make a more prompt decision.  You can easily and quickly upload these documents to your online application.  Please do not post items to us unless we have requested them.

If your first language is not English, you will need to reach a suitable standard in an approved test of English as a Foreign Language. We recommend you take the International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) examination available through local offices of the British Council; you must achieve a score of at least 6.5 in each element, unless otherwise indicated in programme entries. Other tests are also acceptable, please see our equivalences table. Our academic requirement is normally a good honours degree (or overseas equivalent) but where the requirement differs, or work/life experience is required, this is given in the programme's prospectus entry.

Please note: International students are not normally admitted to the UK for part-time study, except in the case of modular programmes involving short periods of attendance at the University.

4. How is my application assessed?

Detailed entry requirements for each programme are shown under the entry for that programme.

5. Our admissions policy

The University welcomes applications from candidates of all social and ethnic backgrounds, and its admissions policy includes a commitment to the promotion of equal opportunities. The life of the University is enriched by a student body which reflects the diversity of the community at large, including students from all parts of the UK, the local area, students from other EU countries and from overseas, mature students and those entering straight from their first degree.

The University's admissions policy is directed towards the selection of students who have the ability and motivation to benefit from the programmes which they intend to follow and who will make a contribution to the life of the University.
