This intensive, one-year, postgraduate Masters programme is very popular. Students have a range of backgrounds but, by the end of the course, all have a firm foundation in business related topics. While some past students have gone on to more specialised studies others have gone straight into employment with the banking and accounting/consulting sectors being particular favourites.
In the second term one option is chosen from each of the key subject areas of economics, finance and management and a fourth option from the entire range on offer.
Option availability subject to staffing and timetabling constraints.
The MSc is completed with a project-based dissertation of up to 15,000 words. A choice of dissertation subject areas is provided and students choose their specific topic from one of these broader areas. Many of the dissertations are literature-based and students are expected to acquire and use literature search skills using a range of electronic and traditional sources.
