Bristol team reach final of Universities Business Challenge
26 March 2015
A team of students from the School of Economics, Finance and Management reached the final of the University Business Challenge, with 300 teams competing from Universities across the UK, including six from Bristol.
The students, who were all second year Management Accounting Students performed very well, with four of the teams from the School reaching the Semi-Finals, one of which was held in the Great Hall of the Wills Memorial Building. After completing various team exercises testing financial awareness, creativity, business knowledge and presentation skills, all in a pressured decision-making environment, one of our teams made it to the Grand Final.
Sophie Scott, Nik Nadira, Nay Hlaing, Sophie Zhou and Hanisah Abdul Halim competed last week in the final at IBM in London, against nine other teams. The team finished seventh which is a fantastic achievement, so very well done to them.
The Universities Business Challenge is the UK's longest established and most recognised simulation-based competitive challenge for undergraduates designed to develop employability and enterprise skills. Supported by the UK's leading universities and graduate employers, more than 21,550 students have benefitted from participating in the UBC Worldwide over the past 17 years.
