Are we witnessing the death of the lecture?

Dr Steven Proud explores this question for the Best of Bristol series.

For the past 50 years, academics and commentators have repeatedly claimed that the lecture would soon be replaced with other forms of teaching, yet it still remains one of the dominant forms of information delivery in Universities.

This lecture will explore whether lectures remain relevant in an increasingly digital world, and how pedagogical techniques can be used within lectures to enable students to develop higher level skills.
