Why study here?

High quality teaching

Teaching is a core aspect of the University of Bristol's mission, and as such is a core element of our staff's role. Teaching is research led, and is delivered by leading researchers in their field.

Teaching is delivered through a range of methods, including lectures, small group tutorials, and workshops, with the exact mix determined by the choice of programme.  Academics are also available in office hours, where students can visit without appointment to seek clarification of further explanation on anything they have been taught in class.

Research environment

The high quality of research within the School was illustrated in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, where 88 per cent of the Department of Economics research was classified as either world leading or internationally excellent, whilst 78 per cent of the research in Business and Management was rated as world leading, or internationally excellent, placing the School of Economics, Finance and Management amongst the leading schools in the UK.

The MSc program equipped me with theoretical knowledge of Finance and investment that, from my point of view, is indispensable.

Ruby (MSc Finance and Investment and PhD in Accounting and Finance)

The fact that a university combined high quality education with an amazing place to live and meet people was the main factor that helped me decide to study here.

Sofia (MSc Management)

The course and the unit combinations impressed me; there were no other courses better than the current course I am doing in any other institute which I looked at.

Safiullah (MSc Economics, Accounting and Finance)
