Whenever possible we will do our very best to accommodate ad-hoc visits to the department, it is important you contact caroline@cs.bris.ac.uk to organise an appropriate time to visit. All our academic staff are also active researchers, so we cannot guarantee a chance to meet a member of staff unless an appointment has been made prior to your arrival.
You will be invited along to a visit day if you have applied to study with us, and we think you have the potential to do well on one of our courses. Visit days are held between November and March.

The visit day will commence at 12.00pm, therefore we recommend that you arrive at 11.45pm.

Yes- We provide a selection of sandwiches at 13.00 along with hot and cold beverages.
Yes the coach will pick up from outside of the department at 15.45, it is a 20 minute journey to the station (Although this can vary).
The university maintains a Maps and Guides section that gives directions for all forms of transport - including a precinct map (We are building number 25).
There is a free shuttle bus from Temple Meads station to the Hawthorns, which is also located on Woodland Rd. Alternatively you can catch the number 8 or 9 bus which runs to the precinct every 10 minutes during the day.
The closest car park to the department is located at Trenchard Street.
The City Centre and Clifton are the best areas to look for accommodation, most will be within 15 minutes walk from the department.
The university's Accommodation Office holds details on all aspects of student accommodation - including the current Accommodation Prospectus.
If you would like to visit a hall of residence you must pre-arrange your visit with the Warden of the relevant hall.
Due to limited space we prefer you to bring a maximum of one guest, however we are happy to make an exception where necessary.
