New Scholarships for 2011/2012

 

For Home and EU students: The Faraday Scholarship

Home or EU students entering in 2011 and beyond, the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering will provide five scholarships worth up to £2000 each over the course of the degree. The scholarships will be five hundred pounds per year and will be awarded to five students, on the basis of their academic record and the contents of their UCAS application. The award will continue for the length of their studies subject to satisfactory progress.

If you would like to apply for one of these studentships and intend to confirm your place at Bristol, please send a short personal statement to the admissions coordinator (ee-admissions@bristol.ac.uk) before 1st May 2011. Your statement should explain why you think you will benefit from receiving a scholarship from the department.

For Overseas students: The Dirac Scholarship

In honour of the Bristol born Theoretical Physicist Paul Dirac the Faculty of Engineering are pleased to announce scholarships of £1000, for academically exceptional International students. Scholarships will be given to all candidates who arrive to study and who have achieved A*AA at A Level, or the international equivalent. To win a scholarship, the A* must be in Maths, Further Maths, or Physics; General Studies A Level, or A Level languages where that language is your native language, will not be counted for the purposes of the scholarship.You do not need to apply for the Paul Dirac Scholarship as you will be considered automatically on the basis of your application:: http://www.bris.ac.uk/engineering/prospective/scholarships.html

 

The Toshiba Scholarship

Bristol based Toshiba Research Europe Ltd, are very proud to support a Scholarship of £1000 which will be awarded to the top two students studying on the MEng (4 year) degree programmes. These scholarships will be awarded at the end of the first year of study, the £1000 scholarship is continued annually for the remainder of the programme.

 

UKESF:Undergraduate Scholarships with Employers in the Electronics Industry

The University of Bristol is one of only five top UK universities in partnership with the newly established UK Electronics Skills Foundation. UKESF are offering scholarships of up to £1500 per year to undergraduates studying in the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering starting in the academic year 2011/12. Our students are eligible apply for the scholarship in any year of their degree course, except the final year. The application process opens in September 2010.

IET Scholarships

All of our undergraduate degree programmes are accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), any student embarking on our courses are eligible to apply for a number of IET engineering scholarships. Amounts can vary between £1,000 and £3,000 per annum, and closing dates for application are usually at the end of June.
