The test pilot for an ambitious new military transporter project that had its first flight in December 2009, the Airbus A400M, returned to the University last week [Thursday 18 March] to give a lecture about the project.

Autonomous robots and vehicles have the potential to be incredibly useful by carrying out tasks in place of humans in hazardous areas and helping the elderly and disabled. Tomorrow [Wednesday 24 March] 64 year nine female students from schools across the region will be spending a day designing their own robots and energy efficient vehicles.

The National Microelectronics Institute (NMI) has announced the creation of the UK Electronics Skills Foundation (UKESF) to address the threat of diminishing skills in the UK electronics sector. The foundation aims to increase and sustain the supply of industry-ready graduate engineers and boost career take-up in the sector
