Please note: you can only join the programmes above in late September/early October annually. As they are taught programmes of study, you cannot enter at any other time in the academic year. Admission to study on a Taught Postgraduate Programme is approved by the Board of the Faculty on the recommendation of the Head of Department and the Faculty's Graduate Studies Committee. The University of Bristol Regulations state that the following entry requirements must be satisfied prior to admission to programme listed above.
a minimum of a BEng 2.1 in your first degree from a UK university, in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or Engineering Mathematics
candidates with a lower class of degree, or equivalent qualifications, may, under certain circumstances, be admitted if they can demonstrate their potential for higher degree work. These certain circumstances include holding other vocational qualifications, presenting published work, or offering relevant work experience
a minimum of 6.5/10 from a Greek University
a minimum GPA of 3.7/4.0 or a minimum percentage mark of >85% from universities in PR China
a minimum grade of 80% from most Indian universities
a minimum qualification of MSc as well as a BSc or BEng from Pakistan Universities
a degree which is a recognised equivalent in quality and grade classification to a UK degree, the quality of which will be checked by the Admissions Administrator
a language test score of > 6.5 in the IELTS test, or a TOEFL score of >620 (paper based testing) or >260 (computer based testing). Please go to the Language Centre to find out more about the IELTS test
a guarantee of funding must be received by the Faculty Postgraduate Admissions Administrator before registration can be permitted. This guarantee must be that all course fees can be paid and that the student or his/her parents/sponsors can cover all living costs while in Bristol for a year.
