About the Department
Higher education league tables consistently place this Department amongst the best in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the UK, in terms of the research output, but also for the excellent teaching quality provided, which is reflected in the strong employment prospects of our students.
The Department's commitment to high teaching quality is recognised by its maximum possible mark of 24/24 in the most recent Teaching Quality Assessment (TQA) by independent inspectors from HEFCE. The Department is also recognised as internationally excellent in its research activities through the RAE2008 Research Assessment Exercise with 65% of our staff falling within this category.
