About the Centre
Bristol University is committed to providing the highest standards in teaching, learning and research and to making these standards accessible to students from all walks of life. Its overall plan for the period 2004-2009 is to create –
‘A diverse, socially representative and able student population experiencing an education that is intellectually demanding and provides skills relevant to the 21st century’(University Plan)
The Centre for Personal and Professional Development is part of that plan, offering and maximising opportunities for personal growth and professional development. It aims to provide students with a varied programme of studies that is flexible, collaborative and useful. It offers innovative, non-traditional and unique learning opportunities for those students wishing to increase their personal learning and for those who wish to develop professional competence through work-based learning, community engagement and continuing professional development.
The Centre has a growing research profile, which informs teaching and learning and has links with other research centres within the University.
