The NPD User Group supports users of the National Pupil Database (NPD) through organising meetings which focus on new data developments, analysis and research findings, and provide an opportunity to meet other users.
Previously (2006-2014), the group was called the PLASC/NPD Users’ Group (PLUG) where PLASC refered to the Pupil Level Annual School Census.
The next meeting will provisionally take place in London in summer 2017. Join our email list to be first to hear when further details are announced.
The NPD User Group is run with financial assistance from the Department for Education (DfE), the owners and managers of the data. Previously the group was jointly funded by the DfE and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
The NPD User Group is currently (2014-) organised by Rebecca Allen, Reader in Economics of Education at the Institute of Education, and George Leckie, Reader in Social Statistics at the Centre for Multilevel Modelling. The group was set up and previously (2006-2013) organised by Simon Burgess, Director of the Centre for Market and Public Organisation (CMPO) and Harvey Goldstein, Professor of Social Statistics at the Centre for Multilevel Modelling.
