Professors Mark Beach and Robert Piechocki jointly lead the activities and direction of Bristol's Communication Systems and Networks Research Group.
The research group brings together a world-leading team with complementary expertise spanning radio frequency circuit design, physical-layer wireless systems, wireless sensing for eHealth, energy-efficient networking waveforms, and advanced communication technologies. Group members have extensive experience in collaborative, high-impact research, contributing to significant advancements in wireless communications and related fields.
We are widely recognised for our pioneering work in antennas and propagation, 5G and beyond communications, connected and autonomous vehicles, and linearised power amplifiers. Our research spans fundamental, cutting-edge investigations through to the translation of novel concepts into practical prototypes, supported by large-scale testbeds and trials. We also apply machine learning and AI to real-world implementations, enhancing overall system performance and efficiency.
