To celebrate its 21st Anniversary, the Centre for Communications Research held a public lecture (160 Kb PDF) at 5.15pm on the 2nd December 2008.
The speaker, Professor David Burrows, is Director of the UK Imaging Design Centre of Aptina UK Ltd (a wholly owned subsidiary of Micron). He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Microelectronics Institute and a Visiting Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Bristol.
The lecture explored the impact that engineering implementation constraints have had on communications & signal processing over the last 21 years or so and how advances in technology have led to the exciting state we are in today: limited by imagination, not transistors or hertz!
