CTRad: Translating novel discoveries to and from the clinic

4 June 2023, 10.00 AM - 4 June 2023, 12.00 PM

University of Glasgow

Hosted by the National Cancer Research INstitute (NCRI)

NCRI CTRad has recognised improving translational research in radiation oncology as a priority area and has established a working group to address the gaps in this field. This free interactive workshop, led by the NCRI CTRad Working Group 1, focuses on translating novel discoveries to and from the clinic and aims to engage the research community to discuss the current challenges and opportunities in this space. The sessions will feature short talks highlighting methodologies to overcome shortcomings in forward and reverse translation as well as an interactive discussion between our expert panel and audience. Ultimately, these discussions will inform ongoing efforts to develop guidelines in the translational research field going forwards. We are aiming for wide multi-disciplinary input into this workshop and welcome participation from basic scientists, PhD students/post-docs, trial methodologists, clinician scientists, translational researchers and patient advocates.

The workshop will take place between 10:00 and 12:00 on Sunday 4 June 2023 at the University of Glasgow prior to the main CRUK-ARR Radiation Research Conference.
