Funding for programmes
We offer the following funding opportunities for postgraduate programmes.
The Government has announced that loans up to £10,000 will be available to support both taught (PGT) MSc and Research MSc study. Read more about the benefits and your eligibility for a postgraduate loan.
The Government has recently announced that they will introduce a PGR loans scheme, offering up to £25,000 for the 2018/19 academic year, for eligible students on eligible courses. You can access the full Government Response here.
We have a number of fully-funded, four-year PhD programmes covering a wide range of research areas. Check our postgraduate programmes page for more details.
MRC GW4 Doctoral Training Partnership
In addition to the above programmes, we also offer a number of studentships for specific PhD projects each year through the MRC GW4 Doctoral Training Partnership.
Other PhD projects
Applications are now welcome for an enthusiastic and talented PhD student to work under the supervision of Professor Ann Williams in the School of Cellular and Molecular Medicine and with Professor Caroline Relton in the Bristol Medical School. Further information on the project: 'Combining cell biology with population-based studies to investigate the role of BCL-3 in therapeutic resistance to improve the treatment of rectal cancer' and how to apply can be found here.

University of Bristol postgraduate research scholarships
In addition to the funded PhD projects listed above, our faculty are pleased to offer funded PhD scholarships for applicants with exceptional research potential.
Zutshi-Smith Scholarship at the University of Bristol
Applications are now welcome for the Zutshi-Smith Scholarship at the University of Bristol. This award covers the full cost for an Indian student to undertake a PhD course at the University of Bristol.
