About the Graduate School
For students and academic colleagues involved in postgraduate research across the biomedical sciences, the Graduate School provides a supportive, intellectually-stimulating community.
We are here to administer every aspect of your postgraduate study: from application, registration and annual progress monitoring, through to completion of your degree.
As part of the academic programmes we offer, we run a free programme of transferable-skills training, recognised by the UK’s leading research councils, to complement and enrich your study. While a certain amount of skills training is a required addition to many postgraduate programmes offered by universities, we have made a significant investment to deliver a comprehensive range of optional units over and above standard requirements. This ensures that when you graduate from Bristol, you are fully prepared for your next venture.
Our training programme will help you develop and improve your expertise in areas including:
- Public speaking at scientific conferences
- Creating and delivering presentations
- Writing academic papers
- The ethical implications of medical research
As a postgraduate member of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, you can expect to be fully supported by the faculty Graduate School, while benefiting from the exceptional research and teaching resources that are unique to each academic school and discipline.
