Post-offer visit days

Congratulations on receiving your offer to study Biology or Zoology at Bristol!

What to expect when you visit the School of Biological Sciences

We hope your post-offer Visit Day will confirm that Bristol is the right university for you.

You might have been to one of our Open Days where you explored the University precinct and saw some subject talks and displays which helped you decide which course to apply for at Bristol.

Now that you have an offer from us, your Visit Day is designed to give you more time to ask any questions you may have about your course, look around the facilities and find out more about what it is like to study here.

The day should give you a really strong sense of what it will be like to be part of our science community at the University of Bristol. On the day you will:

  • find out more about your course
  • take a tour of the buildings and facilities where you will study
  • meet teaching staff and current Biology and Zoology students and have plenty of opportunities to ask lots of questions.

In the morning you are invited to attend talks welcoming you to the University of Bristol and giving you an overview of student finance.  Campus tours and accommodation tours are available.  You will spend the afternoon in the School of Biological Sciences, meeting current students and teaching staff, finding out more about our courses, touring the facilities in the Life Sciences Building and learning about our current research.

Need help with the cost of getting here?

You may be eligible for a means-tested bursary to help with your travel costs. See our Student Funding Office web page for more information.

At the Biological Sciences Visit Day, I really appreciated being able to talk to current students and get a unique and accurate perspective of what life was like as a biology student here. I definitely believe it was very influential on my choice to study at the University of Bristol, and feel passionately that choosing to study biology here was one of the best decisions I have made.
