Faculty Writing Fellow

Knowledge goes further if it’s well expressed.

The Royal Literary Fund Writing Fellow in the Arts Faculty is available for confidential one-to-one consultations to advise you on how to improve your written work, whether planning and structuring your argument, writing clear and compelling prose, or editing, proof-reading and presenting the final version.

This is not about remedial English or support for non-native speakers. Even the most fluent writers – undergraduate and postgraduate – can benefit from advice on their writing, and an appointment with a Writing Fellow is intended for anyone who wants to be able to put across their ideas and arguments as effectively and persuasively as possible. Your work will not be marked or discussed with any members of staff. This is simply an opportunity to get expert help with your writing, be it an essay, dissertation, thesis, report, or piece of creative writing.

We have two Royal Literary Fund Writing Fellows this year –  Chris Wakling and Anita Mason

Chris will be in the Faculty on Mondays and Tuesdays during term. You can make an appointment with him by emailing christopher.wakling@bristol.ac.uk .  He can be found in  Room 2.71 (top floor, left of the landing) at 21 Woodland Road. Other notices (timetable changes, talks, events etc) are also posted there.

Anita will be in the Faculty on Wednesdays and Thursdays during term. You can make an appointment with her by signing up in the Faculty Education Office, 3-5 Woodland Road.  Tutorials will be held in Anita's office in Room 1.3 26/27 St Michael's Park  (around the corner from Woodland Road, facing the back of Senate House).
