Our postgraduate visits are ideal if you want to get a feel for postgraduate studies. Whether you're a current student or you'd like to look around for the first time, our events will give you a valuable insight into life at Bristol and the programmes on offer.

Departmental research seminars are an integral part of being a postgraduate student. Not only do they provide interesting and stimulating discussions, they also provide a great social aspect and enable students to feel part of a community.
Prospective new MA and research students are very welcome to attend our departmental seminars. Academic staff will be available after the seminar, so please feel free to approach them to discuss your area of interest (MA/research).

If you are interested in applying for an 2016/17 studentship you are expected to attend the SWW DTP’s Information Day, held on Monday 23rd November 2015 at the National Museum Wales, Cardiff.
The day will be an opportunity for those interested in applying to the SWW DTP to find out more about the consortium, its studentships and the opportunities on offer. DTP Hub and institutional staff will be on hand to answer your questions and academics from each subject area in the consortium will be available to discuss your research plans. A selection of our non-HEI partners will also be in attendance to offer help and advice for projects and plans.

You will also have the chance to attend this years Churchill Lecture to be given by Isobel Armstrong (FBA), from Birkbeck, University of London titled 'Poetics and Passions: Perlocutionary Thinking' . This will then be followed by a drinks reception where you will have the opportunity to meet academic staff and current students.
