Taught programmes

With more than 20 MA programmes on offer across the Faculty there are plenty of options from which you can choose. Covering most areas of the Arts and Humanities our courses are offered full-time taken in one year or part-time with the workload split over two years.

Structure

Dissertation / project

This is usually around 15,000 words. During the taught elements of the programme you will decide on your topic and begin your research. The summer period from June to September is dedicated to individual study to produce either a dissertation or a project as outlined on each programme page.

Part-time options

There are a number of part-time options available for study and we aim to try to provide a flexible approach to postgraduate study to allow you to fit it in alongside your other commitments. Flexible patterns of part-time study over two years are as follows:

Timetables

We understand that planning for the year ahead takes time and that you sometimes need to juggle your studies around part-time jobs and personal commitments. These timetables will give you an indication of the teaching hours per programme and likely days on which teaching and research seminars are generally consolidated. Please note that these are only indicative timetables and details for your programme may change for next year.
