We offer programmes in the following research areas:
This is a one-year tailor-made research programme at Masters level. This option is ideally suited to you if you have a focused interest in a particular topic that may not be covered in any of the MA programmes offered. The MPhil is a qualification gained through individual research under the guidance and supervision of an academic member of staff who acts as your tutor. Although the MPhil option does not involve the taking and completing of taught units you can sit in on units on MA programmes that may relate to your own research. The MPhil is awarded upon successful completion of a 25,000-word dissertation.
The MLitt/PhD research route can, in some cases, be taken directly after completion of an undergraduate degree. Alternatively you can also apply for a MLitt/PhD after completing an MA programme.
