Performativity I Place I Space
Academics involved in this theme are involved in thinking about space and place as performative - in other words, how they are created or transformed by social and individual action or themselves create or transform such actions. We address such vital questions as: In what ways do an individual's or group's activities (material, artistic, and imaginative) create meaning for their relation with the world and others? How do our different senses and conceptual frameworks productively mediate our relationships with the world?
