Academic staff may apply for BIRTHA funding to support an event or project which is of a developmental or interdisciplinary nature, or aims to promote and/or enhance research networks.
BIRTHA proposals should be submitted using the Research grants application form (Word doc, 47.5kB). Proposals will be considered by the BIRTHA Executive Committee which meets three times during the academic year.
Please note that applications for support for attending a conference or for individual research should be made to the Faculty of Arts Conference and Research Fund (UoB access only).
Applications deadline: Tuesday 24 January 2012 and Tuesday 1 May 2012 (please note funds must by spent by 1 August 2012)
Applicable to academic staff only (teaching fellows are not eligible to apply).
The small grants scheme is light-touch and allows for a swift response. Requests for funds under £500 may be submitted at any time during the academic year, and will be considered by the BIRTHA Director who will usually be able to give a response within a few days. Requests should be submitted using the Small grants application form (Word doc, 41.5kB) and sent to Sam Barlow (sam.barlow@bristol.ac.uk). Please note all proposals must be over £100, anything under this amount should be referred to departments.
