We are delighted to announce that Bristol Anthropology and Archaeology has been ranked 6th in our Unit of Assessment (UoA), and 4th among Anthropology Departments in the UK, according to the Times Higher (THE) rankings. In the recently published results of the Research Excellence Framework 2021, 86% of our research outputs, and 100% of impact case studies and research environment were judged world-leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*). Overall, 91% of the submission was judged world-leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*).
Anthropology & Archaeology at Bristol is a uniquely broad endeavour comprising social, biological, and linguistic anthropology, and archaeology. We submitted 12.8FTE researchers, and this collective success is the result of the hard work and dedication of all staff across the Department. We are immensely pleased and proud with this result!
