Student support and outreach

Gifts to the campaign helped hundreds of promising students benefit from a Bristol education, and created opportunities for thousands of children to get involved in University education initiatives.

  • 2,800+ places at workshops, after-school sessions and University buddy days filled by local schoolchildren at IntoUniversity Bristol East

  • 750+ student-led societies, sports clubs and projects supported
  • 11,000 local schoolchildren engaged through the Thecodontosaurus ‘Bristol Dinosaur’ project
  • 2,160 Tanzanian school pupils across 12 rural community schools have benefited from new textbooks created by researchers at Bristol. The books support a student’s transition from learning
    in their mother tongue at primary school to learning in English at secondary school.
  • 135,000 schoolchildren have benefited from Bristol’s ChemLaBs and Lab in a Lorry programmes – hands-on innovative learning experiences that bring science to life
