Working with the Widening Participation and Undergraduate Recruitment Team if you're a member of staff

Widening participation activity takes place across the University, but is coordinated by a centralised team operating from Senate House. The team is engaged in a number of initiatives across the region including; mentoring and tutoring in local schools, visit days to the University, summer schools and advice and guidance to potential mature students. The team also supports academic widening participation faculty coordinators who operate in each faculty. Academic faculty coordinators develop, with colleagues, widening participation faculty plans, which outline how faculties will contribute to the overall University strategy. These are produced in the Autumn term and reviewed annually against the strategy and implementation plan.

The Widening Participation and Undergraduate Recruitment team are keen to work with academic departments and support services to deliver University's objectives in this area. They can offer advice and support for individuals and departments wishing to undertake work with schools, colleges and community groups and, in some cases, can provide funding to support such activities.
