Global Africa Group
The Worldwide Universities Network Global Africa Group is a special interest group, which runs as a complement to its sustainable development work across the global challenges. It is a platform for African and non-African research institutions committed to working together. Utilising the expertise and commitment to international partnership of its group members, it contributes to the identification of sustainable and equitable solutions to critical local, regional and global challenges of relevance to Africa.
Bristol is proud to be the home of one of the leads on the Global Africa Group, Isabella Aboderin, who is also Director of the Perivoli Africa Research Centre, where work on thought-leadership and knowledge-sharing is a critical part of the mission, one which is shared by the Global Africa Group. Regular workshops (co-led with Divine Fuh of the University of Cape Town) are key to the development of work in this area.
Further information can be found in the Global Africa Group's 2020-2023 Strategy.
A YouTube video was made of the group's book launch for Africa and the Sustainable Development Goals.
