Official Veterinarian Course

A two-week intensive course for MRCVS Registered Veterinary Surgeons who wish to become Official Veterinarians authorized by the Food Standards Agency to perform official controls in meat premises in accordance with EU2019/627 laying down specific rules for the organisation of official controls on products of animal origin intended for human consumption.

This course has been modified to reflect the changing role of the Official Veterinarian within licensed meat premises. In addition to receiving the OV certificate on successful completion of the course, the delegate will also undertake the University of Bristol Animal Welfare Officer-Technical course.
