Appendix 1: Institutional safeguarding responsibility

This record of responsibilities supplements the Safeguarding policy.

1. ​Safeguarding procedural chain of responsibility

1.1. The Board of Trustees has overarching responsibility for safeguarding policies and practices within the University. 

1.2. Audit and Risk Committee holds secondary responsibility and is the link between the Board of Trustees and the Executive Director for Education and Students.

1.3. The Executive Director for Education and students holds tertiary responsibility, and is the link between the Audit and Risk Committee and the Safeguarding Officers.

1.4. The Director of Student Support and Wellbeing, the Assistant Director: Complex Casework and Safeguarding, and the Director of Central Services are the appointed Safeguarding Officers and hold responsibility for safeguarding at an operational level.
