Enquiries and research service
The Theatre Collection is open to all. For making enquiries or requesting images please see below.
Before making an enquiry
If you have an enquiry about our holdings, an initial search of our online catalogue prior to contacting us will help you to decide whether you may need, or like, to visit us in person. If you would like to make a research visit please email us to make an appointment and to order items.
Please note that not all our holdings are catalogued onto the online catalogue so after searching online, if you are unable to find what you are looking for please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org or 0117 3315045
We are currently migrating the content of Collections Pages from our old website - please contact us for information for those collections with no page link information.
If you are unable to visit the Theatre Collection in person, we can undertake research enquiries on your behalf. This service is provided free of charge for up to half an hour. Additional time spent on an enquiry will be charged at £12.50 per half hour. Please email us with full details of your enquiry so that we can advise as to potential costs.
Non-commercial image requests
Researchers visiting the Theatre Collection may take photographs (non-flash) of materials for personal reference only. These images can not be used for distribution or publication in any format. There is a flate rate for camera use of £3 per day and you will be asked to complete a copyright declaration form. A scanner is also available in the reading room, use of which is also charged at £3 per day. Please note that if you require a member of staff to scan items for you there will be an inital charge of £3 with a charge of 50 pence for every additional scan. Please note that some items may not be suitable for scanning.
Commercial image requests
Commercial use is defined as any usage within the public sphere, including print and online publication and public dissemination, film and television, performance and installations, exhibitions and displays, websites, online blogs and all forms of social media.
Commercial image requests should be sent to the picture research agency ArenaPAL (email@example.com)
