The aim of the Research Innovation Fund is to develop and support an international network of researchers across the world, therefore any researcher based at a Higher Education Institution (HEI)/university anywhere in the world can apply.
The Seedcorn Awards are intended to be used for early-stage, short-term (up to 6 months) research projects to test ideas, generate early-stage impacts and to develop working relationships with external partners. The funds can also be used for activities such as running workshops, building networks, (especially interdisciplinary or external partnerships) and developing proposals for larger future projects.
The Seedcorn Awards will run for up to 6 months from February-July 2025 each year. Awards can be for up to £10K.
Deadline for applications will be 14th November 2024.
Grants can only be awarded to academic staff and PhD students, with their supervisor’s permission, based at HEI/universities, however we welcome non-academic partners as co-investigators (Co-Is).
We encourage you to speak to the Hub’s Research Development Associate, Dr Emily Crick, to discuss your research ideas and get feedback on applications before submitting your application.
