Industrial Mentoring Scheme

Are you interested in developing future engineering and computer science talent?

The Industrial Mentoring Scheme connects undergraduate students with professional engineers and Computer Scientists volunteering to act as mentors, to help students gain an insight into the industries and understand professional skills that can help their employability. We are grateful to all our volunteer mentors who make this scheme successful.

Why mentor our students?

Our mentoring scheme is an established way to access and guide the next generation. While giving something back, you could meet a future colleague or intern. Mentoring could also count towards your Continuous Professional Development activity. Many of our mentors return for successive years, with some sharing six reasons why they take part.

Who can mentor?

Graduate Engineers and Computer Scientists with at least eighteen months’ work experience. If you have equivalent qualifications, please get in touch to discuss.

How will the scheme work?

Mentors will share their experiences and expertise about working in an engineering company/field with a small group of students. Groups will meet at least three times, ideally four, between January and October. We will provide guidance and support throughout.

How do I sign up to volunteer for this year's scheme?

Please email engf-ilomentoring@bristol.ac.uk and someone will be in touch with more information.
