Joe will run through a number of the activities that Digital Catapult has underway in areas related to the work of the Smart Internet Lab.

Bio:

Joe is the CTO at Digital Catapult where he leads a team working across digital infrastructure, AI, immersive, blockchain and quantum. This includes a range of programmes such as the SONIC Open RAN Labs, UK Telecoms Innovation Network and the StudiosUK Virtual Production studios.He has worked across industry and technology policy and regulatory roles. Previous roles include Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the radio spectrum and Director of AI and Machine Learning at Ofcom, and Director of Telecoms and Chief Scientific Advisor at DCMS. He was one of the authors of the National Infrastructure Commission recommendations to government on the future of mobile communications & 5G for the UK.
