How do gamblers assess the content and design of messages and measures for player protection - results of an online survey in Germany
The project aims to test the validity of the results of a focus group study on the evaluation of responsible gambling messages and measures conducted at our institution in 2023 on a larger sample. Responsible gambling messages, their placement and design will be developed and tested in an online survey. Socio-demographic and gambling behaviour characteristics will be assessed and the Problem Gambling Severity Index will be used to screen for problem gambling behaviour. Our aim is to identify target group-appropriate player protection messages and measures in order to contribute to the evidence-based strengthening of player protection against gambling-related harm.
The project lead is Dr Anke Quack (Department for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy) University Medical Centre Mainz.
