The Bristol Centre for Supercomputing (BriCS) team, led by PhD student Joseph Moore, has been selected as the only UK-based team to compete in-person at the prestigious ISC 2025 Student Cluster Competition.

The ISC Student Cluster Competition is a globally recognised event where student teams design and build their own computing clusters to tackle real-world scientific workloads. It offers a unique opportunity for participants to demonstrate their skills in HPC, teamwork, and problem-solving on an international stage.

Joseph and his team secured their place following a competitive selection process and are 1 of only 10 teams invited in-person. The compelling proposal and innovative approach impressed, showcasing both technical expertise and collaborative spirit.

Professor Simon McIntosh-Smith, Director of BriCS, said, "We are proud to support the team as they prepare for the competition, providing sponsorship and resources to ensure they are equipped for success. We look forward to seeing their progress and wish them the very best as they take on the challenge at ISC 2025."

The team's selection is a testament to their hard work, creativity, and technical acumen; this year's result highlights the strength of Bristol’s computing research and its rising prominence in the field.
