A recent article in Nature featured new research from Marcel Binz's research group, who have developed an AI system called Centaur which they say is capable of mimicking the cognition processes of the human mind.
After Binz and his team made Centaur public, Professor Jeffery Bowers and his colleagues conducted their own tests on the model. They found that Centaur's short-term memory and reaction times were considerably different to those of the human mind. Furthermore, Bowers argues that while Centaur may produce human-like results, its internal processes differ too drastically to inform our knowledge of human cognition.
