Ban on disposable vapes prompts increase in violent crime

The Metro reports that a shop in Northampton has experienced their second robbery of vapes in the last two weeks. A group of 15 assaulted a shop assistant who had requested ID from a teenager attempting to buy e-cigarettes. 

Dr Jasmine Khouja, senior research associate in the Tobacco and Alcohol Research Group, explains how young people are more likely to be influenced into antisocial group behaviour. With disposable vapes due to be banned in June, addiction may be contributing to this increase in crime.
