The Bristol IVF Study
The BRIST-IVF study is investigating factors associated with the success of IVF treatment.
The aim of the BRIST-IVF study is to better understand the factors that influence IVF success.
We have established a clinical cohort of 501 women and their partners (966 participants) undergoing IVF treatment at the Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine (BCRM). We asked participants to answer a short questionnaire, have height, weight and blood pressure measured, and provide urine and blood or saliva samples.
We also invited individuals and couples who became pregnant following IVF treatment to attend pregnancy clinics at the University of Bristol in order to help us to understand more about the impact of IVF treatment on women, their partners and children conceived via IVF. We are in the process of cleaning and analysing the data collected from our participants.
The BRIST-IVF study is led by Professor Debbie Lawlor and Dr Amy Taylor the University of Bristol, and Dr Valentine Akande and Dr Amanda Jefferys at the BCRM. The study is part of the Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Health Partnership.
