I have been teaching German at the university for more than twenty years and I am module leader for the ab initio unit on the German degree programme and for the Advanced German course on the University-Wide Language programme. I am also the German Work Placement Coordinator for the year abroad and support students on their choice of employer, cv and cover letter writing, interview preparation and negotiating the terms of work placements. Before taking up my current position, I was Coordinator of German for Specific Purposes and for Lifelong Learning at the University of Bristol Language Centre.

I hold a Master's degree in Human Geography, English and Italian and a Staatsexamen (equivalent to a postgraduate teaching qualification) in English and Geography from the University of Mainz. I also hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (German and French) from the University of Oxford.

My main interests in language teaching pedagogy are effective feedback, learner autonomy and plurilingual learning.
