Research interests
I am interested in the application of AI to climate science. The focus of my current work is using AI and machine learning to emulate computationally-expensive, physics-based climate simulations to more cheapily generate high-resolution, local-scale climate projections and to make climate projection datasets easier to work with and understand. In particular, I am exploring the use of probabilistic, generative models for projections of extreme precipitation where the natural variability is so large that deterministic approaches do not work so well.
