Research interests
My work principally focuses on film and television comedy, aesthetics, and screen performance. I am especially interested in the challenges of criticism in seeking to account for the detail of experience with regard to individual works of film and television. These challenges seem especially pressing for comedy, which is notoriously difficult to write about in ways that do justice to tone and humour.
